Please note we are aware of a new phishing scam whereby the general public are being sent emails purporting to be from their local Credit Union. The emails may come in from the email address email@example.com or a similar address.
The email will inform the person of a file named “Payment Confirmation” that’s been transferred to them through a site called WeTransfer and will be encouraged to click to download the files.
This scam is designed to collect your personal details with a view to gaining access to personal financial accounts. We recommend immediately deleting any such emails that you may receive. If you in any doubt about whether a communication has been sent by your local Credit Union we suggest contacting that Credit Union immediately.
