We are delighted to launch the Dundalk Credit Union Poster Competition 2024.

We are inviting all primary schools throughout our community to participate in this fantastic art competition. This year the theme is My Happy Place In My Community and we can’t wait to receive the creative and colourful artwork of our local students from Junior Infants right through to 6th Class.

Competition Rules

1. Entrants are asked to create a poster using the theme of My Happy Place In My Community.

We are looking for your interpretation of the theme through your art. Entry is limited to one entry per child.

2. There are 4 categories in the primary school poster competition, and prizes will be awarded in each category.

  • Junior Category: Junior Infants – 2nd class
  • Senior Category: 3rd – 6th class
  • Junior Infants – 2nd Class: Special Category
  • 3rd – 6th Class: Special Category

Participation in the competition is limited to primary school students. Entries to the special category are invited from children with physical or intellectual disabilities, either in mainstream or special classes. Entrants must clearly tick on the entry form if they wish to be considered for this category.

3. Entries can be submitted in any size up to A2 (594mm wide x 420mm high) and can be either landscape or portrait in design.

4. All mediums (drawings, paintings, collages etc.) will be accepted.

5. Entrants may include a caption on their poster.

6. The closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 10th May 2024. No late entries will be accepted after this date.

7. A completed entry form must be securely attached to the back of each entry.

8. Entries must be delivered by post or by hand to: Poster Competition, Dundalk Credit Union, Market Street, Dundalk.

9. Competition winners will be assessed and selected by a panel of judges using the following criteria:

  • Age
  • Use of Colour
  • Creativity
  • Presentation
  • Interpretation of Theme

The decision of the judging panel is final.

10. Only winning artwork will be returned.

1st Prize: €50 Shop Local Voucher 2nd Prize: €30 Shop Local Voucher

3rd Prize: €25 Shop Local Voucher Highly Commended €20 Shop Local Voucher

Senior Category Mainstream Prizes & Senior Category Special Section Prizes

1st Prize: €60 Shop Local Voucher 2nd Prize: €50 Shop Local Voucher

3rd Prize: €40 Shop Local Voucher Highly Commended: €30 Shop Local Voucher

13. Individual prize winners will be contacted through their school and winning entries will be posted on our social media sites following the announcement of the winners. Prizes will be delivered to the winning schools and, where possible, schools are asked to forward photos of the winning pupils to the above email address. These may also be included on our website, in campaigns, on our annual calendar or on our social media sites. Please see our Privacy Notice at dundalkcu.ie
