We’re Changing our Name

by Dundalk Credit Union , 15th September 2026

Share

From Monday, 21st September 2026, our name is changing to North East Credit Union.

Your membership is not changing, and you do not need to do anything. Your membership number, savings, loans, repayments all stay exactly as they are. We are the same credit union, with the same staff serving our members in the same offices. Our new name simply reflects the wider communities our credit union now serves across the North East.

What you will see
Our new name and logo will appear in our offices, on our website and app, and on letters and statements from 21st September 2026.

If you have any questions, please call us on 042-9335489 or 042-9661937, or drop into any of our offices to speak to one of the team. There is nothing you need to do, and nothing about your membership is changing. There is more detail in the questions and answers listed below, and we are always happy to help with anything else.

Your Questions Answered

Why is our name changing?

Our credit union serves a much wider area than it once did. Our new name is one that reflects all the communities our credit union now serves.

When does it happen?

From 21st September 2026.

Do I need to do anything?

No. Your membership number, savings, loans, repayments, direct debits and standing orders all stay the same. There is nothing you need to sign, update or confirm.

Will my online banking and app login still work?

Yes. You will be prompted to update the app the first time you open it from September 21st. This will simply introduce our new branding and once completed you can continue using the app as normal. You don’t need to re-register or set anything up again.

Is my loan agreement still valid?

Yes. A change of name does not affect any right or obligation of yours or ours. Your agreement, your repayments and your repayment dates are unchanged.

What about the nomination on my account?

Still valid. Nothing you have already put in place is affected.

I have a passbook, cheques or forms with the old name. Are they still valid?

Yes. Keep using them. We’ll replace them over time.

Is the website address changing?

Our new address will be www.northeastcu.ie. The old one will continue to work and will bring you to the same place.

Will your email address change?

Our email addresses will change to the new name over time. Anything sent to the old addresses will still reach us.

How do I know a call, text or email is really from you?

We will never call, text or email you to ask you to move money, confirm a PIN or password, re-register your account, or click a link to verify your details. If you get a message like that, it is not from us, hang up and phone us on 042-9335489. If you are ever unsure about any contact, phone us on the number above or call into any of our offices. We would always rather you checked with us.

Is anything else changing?

No. Same credit union, same culture, same values, same offices, same staff, same Board of Directors, same ownership by members.
